The WordBills Story

WordBills started out about ten years ago(!) as a Word macro that I wrote because I couldn't keep track of my docs and bills. I didn't know anything about programming, so I bought a couple of books about programming Word macros and Access databases, and soon my little macro was generating bills, recording them, tracking them...

And it worked great. I could keep track of everything with a couple of clicks, my monthly billing took 2 minutes instead of an hour, taxes were a snap...but there was one problem: I was the only one who could use it. I had created a program that worked for me, but was impossible to replicate for anyone else.

Fast-forward ten years...thanks to advances in web-app technology (and a few more programming books), what started out as 20 lines of an MS Word macro, has blossomed into a real, live web app that everyone can use.

So where do we go from here?

After ten years of making stuff for myself, what I really want now is to make something that is useful for other people.

Here's what I'd like you to do:

1. Use WordBills in a parallel with your current system

It's really easy and fast to get started. It should take literally 5 minutes to create an account and enter last month's bills. After that, just do your bills as usual, then enter them in WordBills. And trust me, you're going to love it...because it's awesome.

2. Tell other translators about WordBills

Thanks again for stopping by, and feel free to get in touch with me, or just say hi.
